    Smile Plan 250

Well guys i am moving to another state and have to surrender my telephone connection .Now i was thinking jumping my plan.

Currently i have a UL 750 ,i was thinking of moving to plan 250 which has a 1gb download limit.

Now, i don't plan to use torrents or download zip files from the internet or something

I just want to browse the news and chat and voice chat over gtalk and video chat over Yahoo

Now if you guys can tell me how exactly is the 1gb download limit calculated.
I mean is it over the download or are watching youtube videos also included.

I could give up youtube videos if asked to

BSNL calculates any data transfer as chargeable units. This includes both upstream and downstream. So browsing, chatting, torrenting, and youtube data transfer all come under accountable units and u will be billed appropriately..

So i would really like to know the experiences of people who have these plans and how exactly do they go about using it

I mean how often do they use networking sites, and voice chats and all.

U can use firefox to reduce your bandwidth intake. Addons can be installed with firefox and those will reduce the data transfer considerably. For example Ad-Block will block out all the integrated ads. So in the absence of Ad-Block u are simply downloading unworthy ads to your pc and this will surely eat up into your bandwidth. Another addon worth mentioning is flash block. It blocks all the flash and will allow u to selectively plan the flash files in a website.

These are some of the tips observed by H250 users and users who are generally in data capped plans

yup Youtube video, voice chat, video chat, all are chargeable. Online videos n audio or picture viewing as downloading the same(citation needed), it is just that u can view it only when u r connected to the internet.

Home 250 plan is good enough if u just want to check your mails, search for literature, everything excluding multimedia data i.e photos, audio, video etc

for a normal user, using about 1-2 hrs daily for mail, text IM, search etc. 1 GB data exchange would be morehtan adequate.
make sure u use firefox with add-ons like ad-block and flashblock.

1 GB is not enough according to ur need so it is better to take another plan

you can choose 350 home flexi with 1.8. GB download and 256 KBPS SPEED MAXIMUM

Yes, don't go for Home 250, as it has only 1GB with 2mbps speed. with such high speed you would finish your monthly Quota in 10-15days.

    Suggestion:Take a lower speed plan

    Lower speed plan?

Or a plan with sufficient data-cap like the H500. Surely he is looking forward for cheaper options, else he would have stayed at the UL750 plan itself.

Plan depends on ur need if ur need is more then go for unlimited if ur need is less then go for startup 250 and if ur download is more than 2 GB then select home 500c+ or 750 unlimited plan( already having)
