Default BSNL assigning only 1 gateway during night time

yes those people who r using the old ip series

    that is 59.XX.XX.XX

they r assigned with only 1 default gateway after 11.30 pm to morning 6:30 am

    that is 59.92.128.1 series ,

in normal time they r assigned with different gateways

    59.92.192.1
    59.92.160.1
    59.96.32.1

these above gateways dont appear during night unlimited,so it proven bsnl is throttling the speeds

Ofcourse they are doing this since sometime and we are helpless. Only a limited number of AC are kept switched on during the night free time. BSNL doesnt do any throttling. It occurs automatically. Imagine thousands of connections passing through a AC, more than for which it was designed. Speeds will automatically reduce.

    AC- Access Concentrator.

I am not working with BSNL, but have certain contacts in NIB bangalore.

According to them its some form of load balancing. But they do it only by 1:30 am and continue doing so until 6:30-7am. It is done automatically and they have programmed their systems to do so.

But i am getting good speeds regardless of whatever meddling they do with the servers. Torrent downloads are always clocked at 180-210 kBps and http downloads using IDM always at 220-230 kBps.

whatever they r doing its not fair,i mean i need to compete with other 49 people to get full speeds considering that fact bsnl contentation ratio is 50:1 and now this AC servers things being off

i hope railware beats bsnl and airtel

This is a common misconception of contention ratio. The contention ratio will not affect your speeds in any manner. Because this is set in the backbone part of the network.

Yes noone notices this, even i am surprised that the thread starter noticed it (even though i knew of it since sometime!!). It is a matter of great hush-hush even within BSNL

the official logic [since its BSNL i assume someone must have approved it on file] must be that at night most people would be sleeping anmd one AC would be adequate for the few owl-like creatures.

Well it is affecting all of the users who are in BSNL broadband. Earlier when all the ACs used to work i used to get 240+ kBps on torrent downloads. But now the speeds hover by 180~200 kBps.

Me too. But I'm very much dissapointed with upload speed capped at 32 KBPS... even that I cannot reach.

However I think server load is too much during night time so no matter if bsnl does throttling or not Speeds will be affected unless BSNL decides to upgrade their systems.

Thanks for the IP gateway info btw.

They are implementing the same on every state. Don't know whether the same is done for the newer subscribers with 117.xx.xx.xx IP .

i dont think 117.x.x.x users can connect to the 59.x.x.x gateway.. there's probably one 117.x.x.x gateway for all 117.x.x.x users!!

No yaar. The gateway IPs are dependent upon the number of ACs present in a state. Usually one or two are always present in a state. Now we know that they are switching all 59.xx.xx.xx subscribers to some common AC during the night. Do they do the same with 117.xx.xx.xx users too? That was my query..

see just like 59.xx.xx.xx series has 59.92.128.1
even 117.xx.xx.xx series maybe have a single gateway which is assigned during happy hours

i dont know much abt 117.xx.xx.xx ip as i am old customer, i dont know wether they r also assigned to a single gateway ip during happy hours

117.xx.xx.xx any user who is using this ip series ,can come forward and do lil research and share the info with us

these findings r not done by me i learned it from other bsnl users , we all need to know abt this and raise a voice agains bsnl,so they switch on the other AC's

Well unless we have an inside man who can give us sufficient proof that BSNL is indeed doing it purposefully, we are helpless.

Besides i get good speeds during the night time. Torrenting gives 180~210 kBps and http direct downloads give 230~240 kBps.

i quit torrents,i never get higher speeds than 1 mb ,only in private trackers i get 180~210 kBps
