    Exclamation BitComet, Huawei WA1003A and port forwarding

    Hi,

    I searched these forums and was not able to find anything of use for my problem. Thus the post. I get a message on Bitcomet saying my listen port is blocked. I go to the portforwarding website and follow all instructions to configure my router settings. However, there is no change in status. One thing that I noticed was that on the router page, there was no place to enter the ip address. I was only supposed to enter the port number. Let me know if anyone can help! I use the latest version of Bitcomet (1.09). The port I am trying to configure is 60006.

    Thanks

    1) choose randomly a port between 52,000 and 55,000 in bitcomet
    2) check your firewall settings if it is blocking the ports.

    Default Host and Mac address

    For whatever reason, NOW it is asking me to enter the LAN Clients setting before making changes to the port on the router. But I'm not sure about my MAC address and my Host name... where do I find this info?

    MAC address of the Lan card can be be found out by entering ipconfig /all command in the command prompt. Physical address is the mac address.

    The host name is your PCs name, which can be found from system properties (windows key + pause break key). Checkout computer name tab and u will find it.

    Unhappy Still listen port is blocked

    I was not able to enter the Mac address - It gave me an error. However I was able to enter Ip and host name. I've changed the port to 55000. I'm still not able to open the port - I continue to see the yellow icon that says listen port is blocked.... HELP!

    see this.
    Here's how I do my custom port forwardings in WA1003A:

    1. Login to your router's configuration
    2. Advanced -> Port Forwarding
    3. User -> New
    4.
    a. Rule Name: Name of the application for which you are trying to port forward
    b. Protocol: TCP / UDP / Both (according to your need)
    c. Port Start: The port you need to forward
    d. Port End: The port you need to forward
    e. Port Map: The port you need to forward
    5. Apply
    6. Advanced -> Port Forwarding
    7. User -> Select the Rule Name
    8. Add
    9. Tools -> System Commands
    10. Save All
    11. Restart

    I use zone alarm. I disabled it and still there was no difference. I checked to see that it does not block BitComet.

    Essbebe, I did it exactly as you said - except for the last save all and restart command. Now that you mentioned it, I have tried this too and have restarted my computer as well. I am currently trying to use port 53647 - same result - yellow blocked listen port

    But doesn't the port forwarding site instructions say you need to disable it?

    Anyway, based on your advice - I enabled that too... it still says Blocked:59.92.176.35.53647.

    I'm not sure if after enabling it, do I need to do something else...:38:

    Did you try this with a UNnP supported client like uTorrent?

    Bit torrent used to give me better results than Bit comet. The only reason I would like to continue use of Bit Comet is the preview feature it offers. Does anyone here know of a similar solution? Another thing I've noticed (twice in a row now) is that every time I switch loyalties between these clients, it screws up windows badly. I was unable to connect to the internet on a browser but strangely skype used to work. This has happened twice.

    I'd keep Using another client as the last resort - I just reloaded windows

    What am I doing wrong? I'm sure there are many out here who use the same combination of BSNL, bitcomet and the Huawei.

    BitLord ... similar to bitcomet ... though i dont think bitlord will solve your problem coz it is built upon the same code as bitcomet ...
