Default Does 14 mt long phone wire affect adsl link?

    Hi guys...

for the last 3 years our telephone was besides modem in computer room

Now i bought 14 meters long phone wire and shifted the telephone to drawing room...
    The connections is as follows

Phone wire(copper ones) from pole to splitter-----> from splitter one goes to modem and other (14mtrs long) goes to telephone placed in drawing room.

But since then the adsl link has become unstable. What could be reason?

The stability of ADSL lies upon the attenuation of the telephone line. 14mts of cabling will greatly attenuate the signal from the exchange and hence u are experiencing problems.

Edit : Just now noticed that the 14mts of cable is for telephone. In that case my assumption is wrong.

Extending the length of the cable for telephony will not affect your broadband speed. I have edited my original post to reflect the same.

    @nilayashikkar

    last 3 years our telephone
Check all contacts / black in color/rusting/oxidisation etc.
Buy a good quality Rj11 ( single pair cable and try )
Or the good old BSNL copper wire cable.
( Your TV antenna feeder line from antenna also
suitable, if still stored in in the house . )

    QUICKFIX:
    Should not affect.
Still if you like to have a phone in drawing room,
connect the 14 meter line direct to BSNL Phone jack
and use additional ADSL splitter in the drawing room only for telephone. ( same type used for modem )

Update:7PM 6th feb : If ADSL splitter not available easily
get a two way plug (Phones) and connect to Phone Port.
    one rj11 to modem
another rj11 14meters to other room adsl splitter == >>>phone.

( Test : Without this when BB is working you may hear a "Hiss" noise. BB may be intermittent.

Recommended: Shortest good quality RJ11 cable single pair ( max 4 to 5 feet ) from Phone jack to ADSL splitter.
