    Default BitComet Accelerator

    Hi,
    I'm using BitComet 1.09 from the past few days. I've come across a plug-in for BitComet called BitComet Accelerator. They claim it increases the speed of our downloads. I checked out the net for more info. Some people said it works and some say it doesn't. Also, many people have said it is a spyware. Can anyone clarify my doubts? Is it safe to use this accelerator?

    Bitcomet is already a known leeching client. Hence it is banned in many private trackers.

    Configure your connection appropriately rather than relying on such plugin softwares. U should be getting speeds of the order of 180~210 kBps on a torrent with respectable number of seeds.

    use something like utorrent which is pretty popular.. as mentioned above.. just get your port forwarding settings correct and you should be good to go..

    Well I used utorrent and had done all the tweaks but still I got speed of 30 to 40kbps. So I switched to BitComet. I've forwarded the port and done the tweaks here too. It's better than utorrent but still I don't get speeds like most of the guys say (around 200kbps). So I asked about the plug-ins. Thanks anyway.

    Some of the AV softwares detect it as a spyware. Hence the common notion that the software is a spyware.

    we cant say that every AV software is right because they also grab those probablity codes which are used for unlocking the softwares.....so i dont think that trusting blindly on an AV software is right.........i know they are made for this purpose only but we dont have to forget this thing also that lots of viruses are also made by those AV software companies.......

    @Aravind_kumar
    I have a 2Mbps connection. BSNL DataOne. 500 plan.
    Problem: torrents speed.
    Post results/links of speed test done at
    speedtest.net say Mumbai server, Melbourne,
    and a server in U.S.
    2. All other resident applications to be disabled,
    in the task bar.
