Default The DSL indicator goes off

I have UT300R2u modem and when I connect my internet, it works fine for like 2 mins and then the DSL indicator goes off and then it starts blinking. So i am facing frequent disconnections. I can't connect internet for more tan 5 mins at a stretch. Can you guys help me solve this problem?

    Thank You.

Please post your line statistics in here. It will be listed in the webinterface of the modem which can be accessed by typing 192.168.1.1 in the browser address bar.

The high downstream/upstream ratio suggests u are using some other modulation than G.DMT. Please select the ADSL Modulation as G.DMT.

Please post the screenshot displaying the SNR values too

ensure that all your telephones are connected after the splitter..your SNR Info would be under device info->statistics->ADSL

The downstream SNR being displayed in the screen shot is very low. A minimum of 6 dB is required to sustain a good connectivity. Try rewiring the entire telephone network of the house. BSNL should do it for free. Also please avoid unnecessary lengths of wires, as it will increase the attenuation. Also eliminate too much of joints and open ends in the cable..

Some people say, the cable from Pole to Modem should be jointless.
if if there are one or two joints, will the cause problem?

The only problem associated with joints is that it should not be kept open. Please cover the joints using insulation tape so as to avoid disturbances/noises from outside.

joints shouldnt be much of a problem...just ensure that all your telephones are connected after splitter.. best thing to do is disconnect all telephones temporarily and reboot router and then check SNR..

External disturbances in the form of noises can filter through open joints in the telephone cabling. This may increase the attenuation factor and decrease the effective SNR.
