Default How to activate wireless on laptop for type 2?

    Hi all,
I have taken BSNL broadband connection with type 2 modem. The guy who installed it connected it thru ethernet and said that someone else will come to activate wireless on my laptop. But its 2 days and no ones turned up. I searched net and progressed till 192.168.1.1 and typing admin and admin and the interface opens which says UTSTARCOM on one end and ADSL ROUTER at other end. But what do I do next so that i can surf wirelessly?
Please tell me in detail as I want it badly. On the bottom of modem ( or router) it says Model num: WA3002-g1
    I use XP.
    Please help me.
    Thank you.

    I tried this.........

" INTERFACE SETUP -- WIRELESS -- Access point - Activated.
SSID - <You can give any name here, lets u identify ur network>
    Broadcast SSID - Yes
Authentication Type - WPA2-PSK (MOST IMPORTANT)
    Encryption - AES
    Pre-Shared Key - <Give anything, BUT MAKE SURE U REMEMBER WHAT U

TYPED> (This needs to be entered on ur laptop too...)

In the laptop, get to ur wireless networks , and search for

    available networks.
U Should find a network having the same name as the SSID, connect

to this network by providing the "Pre-Shared Key(PSK)". That's

    it... Ur done. "

Then i got connected that way.....BUT couldnt surf...couldnt ping...

Now to try the configuration link given above.....do i need to undo the changes i have made?
    I am confused.
    Please help.
    ty.

    Editing here:
I tried the above mentioned link but same outcome.
I get connected to wireless after entering the key, but I cant surf.
I get this thing in the adress bar after i type url for yahoo

    hxxp://avg.urlseek.vmn.net/search.php?lg=en&mkt=en&type=dns&tb=ie&tbn=avg&q=w ww%2Eyahoo%2Ecom

Please disable the router's inbuilt firewall and try the connection again.

TCP/IP settings were done by the guy who got me connected by ethernet.
Do I need to do them for wireless as well?

well if you arent getting an ip address ( possible reasons - DHCP disabled in your router ) then you may have to setup static ip for wireless as well.. dont use the same ip for wireles and wired.. change the last set. i.e. if wired is 192.168.1.10 then set wireless to 192.168.1.11

IF YOU follow (3) above and checking screen shots in (5),
    You have connection available
BOTH in LAN mode and WIFI mode.
    IP entries remains same.!!!
You are using ONLY ONE laptop.
Disconnect LAN cable when using WIFI!

Did you do this in your computer ?
    Start/All programs/Accessories/Communications/
    Wireless Network Wizard.

If there are some leds in your laptop Wireless lan
adapter are they blinking ? One power(steady) another wireless.

    Then START/Network/WirelessNetwork
    Status.
What you see ? Try Repair etc
Or do you see a WIFI icon in TaskBar ?.

    FEEEDBACK.
