Default How To configure LinkSys router WRH54G and Ut300r2u modem for bridge connection ?

    Hi,
I have BSNL broadband connection. Recently i bought a linksys WRH45G router for using net for my laptop. My modem is configured to run on bridge connection and in linksys settings i gave my username and password to connect to net. Now i need to configure the router so that i can use it like a brodge connection from my laptop. Do anyone have any idea of doing it. Plz Reply?

Does that mean now u have two PCs are u have to share the net in both of them? If so, u will have to configure the router in pppoe mode. Means the username/password has to be entered in the router and the router will dial and establish the connection when switched on.

Only one PC will be able to access the net if u configure the router in bridged mode.

Yeah , i use one pc and one laptop. I use wireless For laptop. So this means i cannot use both my laptop and pc if i configure it as bridge?. Any way can u tell how to configure it as bridge?

No bridge mode supports only one PC connection at a time. If u have to use net simultaneously u need to enable the pppoe/router mode in the linksys router.

Use may also checkout http://www.thinkdigit.com/forum/showthread.php?t=54225 for a rough idea on how to use two PCs in bridged mode.

There is only one round about way in which u can use both in bridge mode. (if u really are soo interested in using bridge mode).
Get a wifi dongle for your PC.
Connect the modem through LAN cable to your PC and connect in bridge mode. (u can also connect your Laptop to the cable if u want instead of PC)
once connected, create an ad-hoc wifi connection between your PC and your Laptop with the option to share the internet connection.

But pl. remember that internet would be available only as long as the first system stayed online. So you will need to keep it powered on even if you don't need it.

Better shift to PPPoE mode to access internet from each system independently.
