Thread: Contradiction in usage record wrong billing again

I have BSNL broadband connection in Home 500 plan. But in this month I am facing some error in bill due to contradictory usage.
In January 2009 although my usage is 2627.23 MB according to BSNL portal site & bbservise.bsnl site usage record.Now according to my plan my usage charge should be
(2627.23-2560)=67.23 MB *0.80 =53.784 Rs but I got the bill where usage charge is given 262.40 Rs that mean 328 MB extra charge. That is totally contradicting the usage record with the BSNL authorized site’s record.
Now today I have went to Zonal office and local exchange due to this wrong billing, in zonal office one BSNL stuff tell me that they never follow the BSNL site they only follow their own SQL internal database where he said 328 MB is extra usage present in my account he told me forget about the usage record in website & i have to pay according to their internal usage record. Then after a long debate with me he told me give a letter to DE internal of (calcutta telephones) although i have prepared my all document but DE was absent today so again i have to go Monday to submit the latter.
This is not the matter of 200-250 Rs for me this is the matter of right & wrong if BSNL sites are not reliable for usage checking then how can we maintain our usage ? BSNL usage record should be same in all database otherwise may be next month they will say my usage is 500 MB extra according to their record, then ?

Give a complain to the nearest internet exchange stating misuse of the account. They will start monitoring your port for unauthorized usage. Its true BSNL uses another private portal for billing purposes. And if they have recorded the extra usage, it must have somehow occurred. Maybe the original portal failed to show it. The explanations are in plenty...

Your query can be explained by the internet exchange. Apply for their copy of the month's usage. Then u can correctly pin-point on which day and time the extra transfer had occurred.

and Change your passwords as a precaution

What is shown is 2627.23MB chargeable usage.
Just tried to work out how they arrived at this figure.
Probably

Your local office has shifted one decimal 262.72 and charged at Re1/MB. ( their billing program
in computer is faulty) Rs 262.40
You have to explain to them to deduct 2560MB
then @80 paise etc.

Ask them to check with some other same Home 500 Plan.

You may pay and later it may be credited.
But submit an application contesting the charges.

To make sure they(local bsnl) correct the bill, send an online complaint to ( give brief details I think 200 characters limit is there )

My actual "advice" to you was to send an ONLINE complaint.

Today we got the usage record from calcutta telephones site record show the difference both are contradicting each other.
Now really i scared if this happen in future i don't know how can i know which is proper usage.

Finally BSNL agree with their portal record rather than internal record and revised my bill into 833 Rs but this is only my moral victory really I have spend to much time for this two or three hundred rupees.
Practically is it gain or loss ?
