Thread: Unable to access few sites including google

I am unable to access few sites including google. I am getting page cannot be displayed error.I am able to access IBF site. Torrent is downloading properly.
I just called few of my friends (BSNL BB users) here in Chennai, even they are facing the similar issues.

Are u able to ping / trace-route the mentioned domains? Please do so and post the reply in here

Start-->Run Window--> Type cmd

A black window will open up. In that window please type ping website.com and wait for sometime. U should see the results being listed out.

Likewise on the same window, after pinging finishes, type tracert website.com. The results will be listed out.

If u right click the black window, u will see a select all option. Select all and press enter to copy the contents to the clipboard and paste the results in here.

Please replace website.com with a website of your choice.

This problem is happening with me also at present moment google is not opening for me (i have change opendns option also but still not opening)
Not only google i am not able access few site but other few sites are opening like IBB

i'm from trivandrum..having same problem...even did a system restore..thought it must be a virus or something...any news on how to fix it..is it our problem or BSNL's

Yeah me too facing d sme problm since today evening .............. while i try to access yahoo,google and it's affiliates dey r shwn as an error of page load error .................... while other sites like msn etc. IBB r opening ..........

same problem..please will someone just update this thread when it starts working..cos i'm scared it might be my lappy's problem

Can anyone decipher the above and tell why then the Google site is not opening...?

seems like a temporary problem with some users ... some one contact the authorities ... this will definitely be solved soon ...

Ther is another thread with same problem. Actually something is wrong and almost everybosy is facing the same problem.

Both might not show any issues, use the NSLOOKUP and check if its getting resolved properly

now please check both sites they are working.........

not facing any problem here.
Initially the network on my Laptop showed limited connection. Tried repairing the connection automatically. intitally indicated some "DNS error". but then things became normal.

the prblem in my region has got rectified ............... n nw i'm able to access dem

Yeah it started now. Must be a temporary hook up.

It was working fine when I use to connect modem using cable. And after this wifi setup, this error comes very frequently. And after 3-4 retries, it displays the google page.

I though there is some technical issue in my wifi setup, but looks like this is bsnl backend issue with their DNS which is not able to resolve the website IP address properly.

Please set the appropriate MTU value in the router.

The MTU value for your connection can be found by following Max MTU: How do I find mine? Tweaking FAQ - dslreports.com

Please revert back whether the problem occurs even after setting the correct MTU value in the modem.

When I checked today morning,I was able to access all sites...there were no issues.
