Default Modem restarts/ a typical problem

I am facing a typical type of problem. When I use net in Dialing mode, I do not have any problem but when I use always on mode, my modem restarted after 2 - min. I reset my modem but the problem is still there. Can you people help me???

    Please state your modem model/make.

Please change the ADSL Modulation to G.DMT instead of ADSL2+.

My modem Model Number is Siemens SL2_141. I have tried with G.Dmt but no solution, Another problem is that I am getting ADSL downstream as 2044 but when I changed to G.Dmt it changes and the value shows 2048. But I checked many of my friends downstream. and all are getting 8189. Why??????

Hey i just looked at it. The values seem fine to me. But the upstream/downstream values are perplexing. Either it should be 2mbps/256kbps or 8mbps/800kbps. Some of the subscribers who have opted for IPTV get their line synced at 6mbps/800kbps.

But your screen shot is displaying 2mbps/1mbps !! I will wait for more members to respond

Ofcourse, u can complain about this odd downstream/upstream values. Maybe they might fix it. I have seen MTNL doing it for its subscribers, u can also give it a try. Please mention the downstream/upstream values given in my earlier post

Your snr and Upstream/downstream value seems to be fine. I was facing similar problem 2 or 3 days ago. But problem seems to have disappeared on its own.

does the modem restart or do you get frequent disconnections?? look carefully.. every 2 min does the power LED also blink ( which means modem is restarting) or only the ADSL link blinks(i.e. disconnection)

    Post details of Download/Upload data
from speedtest.net say Mumbai server and say Lisbon.

What is shown in the modem, is only indicative, of max
speed the modem is capable with the settings options
    selected.

    Attainable Rate (Kbps): 11680 1707
    Rate (Kbps):............. 2063 519

    Test at mini D/L 1687 Kbps 319 Kbps U/L

U can request for a spare test modem from BSNL and check it on your telephone line. Some exchanges allow such facility if spare working modems are available. If the connection is stable, u can replace the existing modem.

@ superprash2003, I can say that the modem restarted in every 2 min. because I am getting the netowork cable is unpluged error. Today The BSNL people change my telephone line which increaes my snr value to 44. but downlink and uplink remains same. Should I request them to change my port??????

Are u still facing disconnection problem even after BSNL changed the telephone line? Network cable error can also be due to a faulty cable or a lan card.

I am not actually facing disconnection problem. My problem is that, my modem restarts after 2 -3 min and it happens specially when I use always on connection but during dial up connection I am not having any problem.
