    Angry Bsnl bills Rs.40000/- per month for broadband.. But usage shows only 3Gb?

    Today bsnl billed Rs.40000/- per month for broadband.. But usage shows only 3Gb

    I am currently using bsnl broadband for 6 months. All very nice upto the last month. Today I received my bsnl bill for broadband use.


    It is around Rs.40000/- and I am using HOME500C+ plan and I only used 2981MB.:32:


    It is total wrong billing by BSNL. HOW TO REGISTER A COMPLAINT ABOUT THIS IN CONSUMER COURT?.:42:

    WHAT PROOF I NEEDED TO FILE A CASE AGAINST BSNL. I MEAN EVEN BSNL PEOPLE COULD CHANGE THE DATA WHEN I FILE A CASE AGAINST THEM.:31:

    HOW COULD I PROOF THIS LEGALLY AND SUBMIT TO CONSUMER COURT.

    post a screenshot of the bsnl portal here please. Include total usage details only and hide all personal info from the screen shot.

    In case of billing problems you should go to The Accounts officer of BSNL in local office. Take the bill with you.

    Eh? Was that meant for me? I dont see anything listed as speed-on-demand in that thread. Arent u speaking about Airtel's Speed on Demand service?

    Sorry, it was with reference to another thread. No idea how it went into this one.

    before jumping any guns, please go the your relevant BSNL Accounts Officer (details indicated in your bill) and file a written complain.

    Even any court would first ask whether u have filed a complain.

    As a new user to BSNL BB I so far not got any billing surprises. As per my knowledge (mostly from this forum) contact the A/c officer with the details, the error will be rectified. Don't jump to the consumer court and all directly, it will be time consuming and expensive. Hope as the error is from BSNL side the will rectify the same.

    I have faced same thing in this month like you but for me they mistake it only 200-250Rs.BSNL are saying they have own internal database and they never follow the BSNL portal site while create the bill.Only I can say you that make a complaint to DE internal in your area.

    There have been few posts regarding huge bill...some like Rs 40,000...some Rs 30,000...

    OMG....its one of the worst nightmare to get such huge bills...

    there have been only threads regarding the complaint about huge bills...
    but what happened after complaining to BSNL, where they able to revert the mistakes in the bill..has anyone able to successful in winning the case..

    A significant number of such issues are caused for subscribers who jump the ship (read change plan in the middle of the month). But like mentioned in another thread by rupu1983, some of the other subscribers are also facing the same lately. Ans with BSNL it is always pay the bill, then fight policy. Else we stand the risk of loosing the phone connection for non payment of bills. Some of the accounts officers also facilitate part payment for such amounts..

    Since your usage shows only 3gb i dont think it would be a problem..
    Just contact the accounts offficer...
    U should be able to get it rectified soon...

    BSNL does not let it grow to such an extent. Usually they rectify the mistake if it is theirs. People discard the connection when they get a huge bill, instead of facing the devil. It might take some hand wringing, but ultimately BSNL will yield if it is their mistake.

    See I m the one who's currently going on with this 30000 bill thing. IMHO it's completely BSNL's fault in my case, so I am not going to pay up. I m currently touring their various offices, will certainly post as and what happens. But i m sure abt one thing, I M NOT GOING TO PAY!

    I think you are in Calcutta telephones area then contact with zonal DE internal give the hard copy of usage record to him from BSNL portal site & also give the xerox of bill with application they might ask you your portal id & password.I have already faced such problem couple of times remember BSNL usage calculation did in their own system they never follow the usage record site's data and may be they have another usage record in their internal database but don't worry if both record contradict then also your bill will be revised but it will take few times.In this month I have also faced few wrong billing by BSNL

    @sharadkumar I would suggest visiting the exchange and asking for their copy of the month's usage. Thus u can cross check and verify on which all dates they have charged u extra..

    see, its about the month wen they implement the plan is not my concern,
    It's not as if they call me wen my plan change is implmented any how...

    So wen I saw that the usage portal was showin 0 usage for night time, I downloaded with all liberty.Now they've billed me for all the night usage...

    Have U met the Accounts Officer? what was the response?
    Pl. remember U can always ask for the basic usage records on the basis of which the bill was raised.
    If they refuse, file an application to the CPIO (Chief Public Information Officer) of BSNL along with a postal order/DD of Rs.10 under the Right to Information Act
