Question Using DNS numbers other than that of bsnl??

hi.. is there any problem if bsnl bb users use dns numbers other than that of bsnl's?

    i mean like that of verizon ( 4.2.2.1 and 4.2.2.2) or Reliance ( 220.226.206.216
    and 220.226.206.217) or Scrubit ( 67.138.54.100 and 207.225.209.66)??

do we have to pay extra for dns servers other than bsnl?

No no. These DNS servers are free for public usage. BSNL or they do not charge us for accessing and using them. !!

Ofcourse there are some private DNS service providers. It all changed with the introduction and popularity of OpenDNS !! The Level 3 DNS servers were only accessible to Verizon subscribers initially, later it was opened to the general public.
