    Default help needed for glb 502t modem

    why does my modem freezez after doing net sometime
    and again i have to restart my modem and every thing goes well
    i am using in bridge mode
    can any body help me out

    Does the same happen when the modem is configured to work in pppoe mode?

    Usually this freezing is associated with the modem getting heated up. Verify that the modem is not getting over-heated..

    getting a switched mode power adaptor will be good.

    One query, arent all the adapters given away with modems switched mode power adapters?

    This is a known issue with this model, company issued a firmware update for this but it does not solve problem fully. I have faced this issue as i have the same model.

    The model overheats and hangs. this situtuion worsens in Summers as here temp rise upto 45C.

    What i do is, Open up the modem cover and use a 90mm fan to cool it
    With proper cooling it does not hang anymore because it gets proper ventilation .

    However i won't suggest you to try this hack, instead take it to service center

    Even i used the same procedure to cool my old MT882/MT880. They too faced the same problem of freezing when getting heated up.

    This is called a "Judad" in indian sense

    even i am facing the same problem and am using the same modem i.e. DSL-502T ... i think this issue has been discussed in a thread earlier ...

    Usually Chinese modems are the culprits, whether it be huawei or d-link. UTStar are known to be stable under high loads and no wonder...BSNL NIB 2 is fully built on UTStar and Nokia-Siemens...
