    Question Port changed

On Saturday at 12 pm i was able to connect broadband...

Then at 5pm on saturday.. I was getting 691 error(username or password wrong one)...

Then i logged into my user account at my friends place and i was able to login!!

Just now went to NIB office and they said your port had changed hence you couldnt connect...The woman did something and i called home asked my brother to start net and it started...

So my doubts are what do you mean by port changed, Will it affect my downloading speeds at night or something like that?

Your telephone line is connected to the DSLAM through an interface. It is termed as the port in this context. Usually when people complain about 691 error, BSNL plugs your line to an existing free port on the DSLAM.

No changes in the performance of broadband can be noticed. It is just like disconnecting and reconnecting to another point on the same machine..
