Thread: High Pings in Counter Strike

Is any one facing high pings in counter strike now a days?
1 week ago i was getting 30 ping on vstreet servers and 50 on IGL servers
and now i am getting 100 pings in both vstreet and IGL..

Why is it happening?
I live in Nagpur, So are all people living in or near Nagpur facing same problem?

Please post the IPs of the servers since we can also trying pinging them. Then u can verify whether it is your problem or the problem for all BSNL subscribers..

you could try changing your DNS servers.. (opendns).. if your pinging hostnames DNS plays a major role!!

I am getting 1900kbps speed on speedtest.net...200kB/s speed on utorrent that too on 1 torrent only!

then why does my ping suck in Steam Counterstrike? Recently my port got changed(as told to me by BSNL wale)...Is it because my port got changed?

Do not trust speedtest results. Try noting down the speed while doing direct http downloads or downloading using private trackers..

then i am getting 150kB/s for 10mb file directly downloaded using firefox
and using utorrent 200kB/s

Yes i used to get 30,50 in vstreet and igl respectively..

Now i am getting 100 in both

i've got this on reliance Broadnet with 0%loss!!!

if ur ping time fluctuates every hour are signs of an heavy congestion in network ur DL speed will not be affected but latency go high!

U are on BSNL, right? What is your IP range? 59.xx.xx.xx or 117.xx.xx.xx ?

i used to play with 300ms ping.but that was half life 2 deathmatch.how do u buy a counter stike game in india-kerala.

I have played something like CS, its called Warrock. U can even request a free CD from them. Its an online multiplayer FPS game.

While i was getting pings of the order of 300ms u were getting 100ms, inspite of being in the same network, but at a different state. Hence was curious about your IP info, because i thought u were on the new 117.xx.xx.xx NIB 2 network.
