Ofcourse u can set the PC to work with any number of DNS servers.
How do i set up different configurations?
im using vista home premium sp1
In TCP/IP properties page
click "advanced" and add
other DNS entries. ( from XP Pro sp3 )
Main page you can have one Opendns 208.67.220.220
and another of BSNL.
Mention your modem model/make.
Im using the good old UT300R2u.....![]()
similar page in your modem.
may be, only two entries will be possible.

Can anyone tel me how to make a batch file to change the settings quickly???
I need the batch file commands to change just the dns settings.. mayb to open dns or so..
Hi, you can set one DNS to BSNL, while second one to OpenDNS.....that should suffice......no need to keep on changing.....
Follow the method given on this site....
hxxp://dns-info.blogspot.com/2009/01/enable-dns-client-group-policy-dns.html
To add multiple DNS Servers, enter a space-delimited list of IP addresses (in dotted decimal format) in the available field.
And one more thing....why do u need lousy BSNL DNS when you can get fast DNS like OpenDNS for absolutely nothing????? I suggest you to stick to OpenDNS coz it's the best and the added advantage is that no sites(except the harmful ones) are blocked....while many sites are blocked BSNL.
Still if you want to change DNS on-the-fly, download the registry file attached with this post...create two copies and replace the servers(currently its OpenDNS servers) with yours.....now create a batch file with "regedit /s setdns.reg" and there you go...ur work is done....
Hope this helps......
Thanks buddy.....
another way out is to configure it in the router itself.. recommended incase you have multiple pcs on your network!!
