    Question very low download rate

    hi
Friends just now i was downloading a mozilla firefox setup from site and i was getting too low download rate as 11KB/s. I have home 500C plan. I'm using XP-sp2. whn i checked my sped from dataone site at the same time it was showing bandwidth reading687.60 and download rate 85.95 KB/s.
how could be this and is there any setting to increase download speed?

usually there is not much of setting to do .... 11 kb for a 2mb plan is very less... can you just tell from which site were you downloading? if it is from any torrent site then the speed depends on many factors... if it is directly from server then try downloading from any other site and check it again ... if the problem is same even then , later will ask some more things about your modem etc,,, then try to solve your problem...

1.Check your speed at Speedtest.net - The Global Broadband Speed Test at Brisbane or Mumbai server.Send the screenshot
    2.using any download manger ?
3.Speed for direct dwonload or torrent ?
4.using any firewall which can restrict speed (depend on firewall mode) ? if true then once disable the firewall and download again.
5.Try to download from microsoft download site and check the download speed for direct download.

i was not using any torrent site also my firewall was off condition. I was directly downloading from firefox site. Not only this time i whenever treid to download something from site directly, it shows download speed initially 80Kb/s and falls continusly to 10-15KB/s.

Normally Home 500 user get 1.5 to 2 mbps speed but BSNL never promise to 2 mbps now(they commit 256 kbps to 2 mbps bandwidth) now you are getting 335 kbps obviously above 256 kbps but still i feel you are unlucky so made a complaint at BSNL customer care for low speed because in previous post you said your download speed 11 KB/s that mean 11 * 8= 88 kbps bandwidth i will recommend you to check it again your speed may be it below than 256 kbps also.
I am also the same plan my speed is although ok.

There is no problem with your connection.
Only thing is , are you using any download manager like IDM,FDM or DAP etc.You should get more than 200kBps (for home 500) with IDM.If not try one and then tell me.
Search for download automation on this site, you'll get lot of solutions.
