    Default Extend Wifi Coverage Using an Additional Wifi Router?

    Hi All,
    I have a BSNL Broadband connection and the BSNL supplied Siemens SL2_141.
    Unfortunately there are area's that the Wifi does not reach. I have an older Netgear WGR614 DSL Wifi router that I would like to connect to the BSNL router to get Wifi in the area's where the Wifi is not reaching.

    Is it possible to connect the Netgear router to my BSNL router (using CAT6) and also have it broadcast Wifi? What sort of configurations would need to be done to achieve this?

    Thanks in Advance.

    sl2_141 LAN1 or Lan2 or Lan3 or LAN4
    ===>>>> WGR614 WAN/internet port
    Usual Rj45 cable will do ( No cross over cable )

    Thanks, I tried that, but my laptop connecting to the WGR614 (thru Wifi or ethernet cable) is unable to access the internet, any settings that need to be done on the WGR614?

    The WGR614 will need to be configured on a different subnet - if the IP address of SL2_141 is 192.168.1.1 then do the following:

    a) Enable DHCP on SL2-141
    b) Connect SL2_141 with WGR614 by an ethernet cable - connect to the WAN port of WGR614.
    c) Set up the LAP IP address of WGR614 as 10.42.224.1
    d) Configure the WGR614 in bridge mode.
    e) Configure SL2_141 in PPPoE mode
    f) Get rid of dialers.

    @just4kix,

    Will try out your suggestions, a few queries.

    In point b you mention "connect to the WAN port of WGR614." It only has 4 LAN and one Internet Port, I assume you mean the internet port.

    What is the "LAP IP address of WGR614"? I am assuming the IP address of the WGR614 itself, please correct if I am mistaken.

    I configured the SL2-141 router using your guide "Solution for multiple machines connecting to same BB connection" so I am assuming that I don't have to do any changes to the SL2-141 (apart from DHCP)

    Yes. Internet port. It is sometimes referred to as WAN port.

    Correct again. Internal IP address of WGR614.

    No. Just set DHCP = ON.
