Do you have the main line going inot a splitter and the o/p of splitter to telephone and the modem? If not then it is a parallel connection and you are bound to face such problems
my landline is in other room and i have the adsl splitter in my room. My room has a telephone port through which I' conneting the phone wire to adsl splitter
So u have conneted a telephone which doesn't has input from splitter. this is parallel connection
I have a spare phone. So should i connect it to adsl splitter???
All telephone connections should be given from the telephone out port of the splitter.
All the phone line should be connected after the splitter.Normally (BSNL gives such splitter) Splitter has three socket phone, ADSL,Line
1.If you try to connect the single phone then use a wire from splitter phone socket option to your Telephone phone instrument and another ADSL option to your modem/router.
2.For parallel connection use another phone connector from the output of phone option in splitter and split them into two line.
