    If there is a option in the UserGUI to change the MAC addres of the modem then you can change it.

    Changing MAC address of any device is not legal.

    but why is it so that you are thinking that it is illegal as infact in this thread itself someone stated that they have this in the inbuilt settings options of the modem itself .........
    though i'm not sure whether my modem type has any such settings ........ and yeah could anyone plz with the same modem type confirm whether or not this modem type supports the change of MAC address ..... ??
    thnxxx in advance

    @eruptionjoojo
    Do a Google search:
    changing MAC address.
    A free application also available.
    Not tested/used by me for /network cards modems etc

    BSNL keeps a tab on your MAC Address (modem, lan card). So even if u change it, they can easily nail u.

    @cool_techie_tvm

    ..I have also seen in some post/forum the mac address,
    ... was listed in the BSNL portal usage page. ( long back)

    Usually users do not want to divulge why they want
    a facility.Directing them to common search engine/s,
    is best option.
