Thread: BSNL Playing with the Chargable Units (KB) Excluding Night Unlimited??

My internet just got activated yesterday at 1pm in the afternoon.
Now its not even 2 days over,but this is my usage,where eas,i havent done any downloads or uploads more than 3 MB also..

As far as I know,my downloads would be around 15 MB a day and upload would be around 5 MB a day. Its fixed,as I mainly do browsing only.

Well,have a look at this,my usage since yesterday 1pm.


Its more than 400 MB now

I have the HOME 1000 Plan,so the night is unlimited from 2am-8am.
I started my 130 MB download yesterday at around 2.15 am. I think,it has been added to my downloads usage.

How can we be sure that BSNL is calculating it correctly for the night usage for limited users ??
How can we track it. Im using the DATAFOX Firefox plugin,but its of no good.

Plz help me out. I dont want to get cheated. Whatever I use it truely,I want to pay for that only. Thats it!!

But your usage record is still perfect nothing wrong is present there.Now for me i can say BSNL usage record quite similar what i calculate via windows dial-up connector record

Yes According to me also the Download details is not having any kind of problem. Your free usage of 130Mb is also given to you. By the by, according to your usage record you did not start your download at 2:15AM it was 2:06AM.

The main reason for the 400+ MB charge is the 165 MB usage on 6th/7th night between 22.06 to 2.06

I got it now..
Yesterdy night at 12am,it was 408 MB and after that I dint use it and it was just ON.

I used it after 2.30am and download around 1 GB till 6am.

Now it shows 659 MB


F**k,from where did this extra 250 MB come up ???



Anyone got any idea,whom shall I f**k in the BSNL office ??

For BSNL BROADBand to get correct night unlimted billing ,
Switch off /On the ADSL modem at 02.00 AM and at 08.00 AM
since server will not break the usage session I think

I have never ever faced problem with night usage billing.

BSNL resets its night meter around 2:15~2:30 AM. So if a session starts before this time, and you have forgotten to reboot modem after 2 AM, then previous session is counted as not free. Let me explain this further by your own example:

a) At 12 AM, you put your system (PC) into sleep mode (standby / hibernate) but your modem is left ON.
b) At 2:10 AM, you woke up your PC and started a torrent session (manually or automatically).
c) You did not REBOOT your modem.
d) You started downloads and till 2:25 AM, your torrent session downloaded about 300 MB.
e) At 2:25 AM, BSNL will reset your clock and recognize your new session as night usage.
f) The 300 MB or so downloaded till that time will be counted as regular usage (not free).

Hence, you must restart/reboot your modem a little after 2 AM (say between 2:05 AM and 2:10 AM) and again repeat the same process just before 8 AM (say between 7:50 AM and 7:55 AM).

Kindly refer to the below steps
1.Log into you bsnl usage portal and sync your computer time with it
2.manually/automatically give command ipconfig /release at 2:00 AM
3.give command ipconfig /renew at 2:15 AM
4.now again at 7:45 give command ipconfig /release

You can also disable your ethernet adapter till 2:15 and enable it at 2:15 . Disable it at 7:45 AM
If possible turnoff your modem at 8:00 AM
To disable/enable your ethernet adapter you have to download DevCon command utility from microsoft.
I have made a program for myself where all these things are done automatically...You can use system scheduler program for this....
