thnxx a lot bro for your reply ................
after i type >o 192.168.1.1 in the telnet window i get the login screen of my modem ..........
i'm listing the screen shots as under : -

but the real problem bro lies after this happens .......... i mean as soon as i start to type the login name in the login screen (as attached i.e.capture1.jpg)i most of time get the error as "connection to the host lost"
"press any key to continue ........... "

but on rear occasions i'm able to telnet my modem .......... i mean i'm able to type my login name and pass into the login screen and access my modem configuration ............... without the error of "connection to the host lost"

hopefully i have made my point more clear bro .............
if in case you want any more details ........... just let me know ....... bro

Please Confirm that in telnet mode
    modem details appear only AFTER
    you type > o 192.168.1.1

choose one .(a) YES (b) NO.

    OR
How the title etc of the modem appears in
    capture1.jpg.

From the screenshots we can see commands like "Schedule" & "firewall", Try to find out what is the purpose of these commands.

thnxxx for your reply bro ...........
i had already tried this autohotkey script .............
but then i retried it again .......... while i execute the script (after having made the desired changes to the script) ......... other than the telnet window popping up nothing happens .............. anywhich ways do you have knowledge about any other method of rebooting the modem bro ..........

i had also contacted imran (imran's broadband utility) via e-mail .......... i'm just copy pasting his reply to through light on a feature of the utility which he wanted to be brought to other's knowledge ...........

    "Dear Joojo,
After a long time i have checked my mail and found your queries on top, so here are some of the things that i can suggest you.

    1) To me, it looks like the problem is in your router.
    2) Instead of trying VISTA's telnet program, try to use my "Mini Telnet" program.
    3) What you have to do is just key in the same command in the same sequence which you would have used in VISTA's telnet to reboot your modem (including ENTER).
    4) After the last command watch your modem lights to confirm that modem has indeed rebooted.
    5) Now change the filename from "Reboot.Txt" to say "test.txt" then click on save button.. it will create a text file names "test.txt" in the application folder.. you just have to convert that files content to the working script for your modem.
(for more details please see Indiabroadband.net where some of the users of this s/w has created a better help then i could provide.)
    6) once your script is ready, you only need to save it as "Reboot.Txt" in application folder adn shedule the times at which you need reboots.

    7) "NIC enable/disable feature doesn't work" - well you need to tick the checkbox "Use this service" under NIC Tab.

Lastly) When i was making that s/w, i had made some provisions for debugging also.
If you want to see what exactly is going on when the program is executing the script, just follow this:-
    1) save a reboot script like this one in the reboot.txt file
    192.168.1.1 23
    WAIT "*"
    SEND "admin\m"
    WAIT "*"
    SEND "admin\m"
    WAIT "*"
    SEND "help\m"
    WAIT "*"
    SEND "reboot\m"
    WAIT "*"
    SEND ""
    2) Schedule a reboot after One/Two minute, then double click on the label "Hour" under Modem Tab.
    3) Now at the scheduled time you will be able to see (in the form of some messagebox's) a detailed conversation between my program and your modem.

Having said that.. Now i will again be busy for some days, so i will not be able to reply you, please sought help from Indiabroadband.net members, they are very knowledeable.
(Also try to share this debugging thing with other users of this s/w too, as i have never told about this thing to anybody else)

    Regards.
    Imran."

but though i'm a bit confused about this debugging feature which he listed as the "hour" label under the modem tab is just a label(text and not a program) ......... then how the debugging gonno happen ............. though i have not tried it ............ but then some other user's would probably through some light over this ...............

Thnxx you all for your replies ......................

But guess what ............ the problem was not with my router firmware nor with the connection nor with the script but it was my vista operating system which was not able to establish a stable connection via it's telnet ................
i installed ubuntu and there i was being able to telnet my router without the error of :-
"connection to the host lost "
    .........................
as it was able to establish a stable connection with the router via telnet ............. anywhich ways i'm still in need of a script which would automate my rebooting in ubuntu ............
please guys provide me with a script to automate my router rebooting in ubuntu ...........
    thnxx in advance .............

"hour" label is a GUI Component.. and whenever you double_click a component it triggers an event.. and you can put any kind of code to any event.....

But guess what ............ the problem was not with my router firmware nor with the connection nor with the script but it was my vista operating system which was not able to establish a stable connection via it's telnet ................
I was already telling you, the problem was either in the Telnet Server(Modem) or Telnet Client(Vista)...

Why don't you install Imran's BB Helper in ubuntu under WINE.. and follow the above steps the author himself told you...

*Whenever you try Imran's BB Utility, try to post the contents of "test.txt", "reboot.txt" and error log.
