Question Help with Imran's brodband utility ......

    Hello everyone ,

My modem type is ZTE ZXDSL 831 AII ......... and my plan is HOME 500C
so i have a download limit of 1.5 GB as well as free usage during 2:00a.m. to 8:00 a.m. .......... so i wanted to schedule my modem to reboot at 2:05 a.m. in the morning ............ i'm having windows vista ..........
i read in many posts in the forum listing this utility software to automatically reboot the modem at the specified time .........
while I installed the program it got installed smoothly .......... but while i try to operate the various features listed i'm not able too ............
i changed the modem pass and username of modem as set by me under the C:\Program files\broadband\reboot.txt file as mentioned but still i'm not able to make the modem reboot at the specified time ......... secondly the NIC enable/disable feature doesn't work i mean i could not get my way around to make it work ...... under the "CONFIGURE YOUR MODEM"imran's mini-telnet what needs to be done ........ overall what all chnges do i need to make it work with my modem type .......
could somebody please guide me as too how to figure it up ...........
i'm also attaching some pic's of the imran's broadband helper ........
    thnxxx in advance ........

though while i enabled the telnet client feature i was able to get into the telnet window .............
the first time i type "open 192.168.1.1 23"
i was prompted for a login name and password and i was able to access the modem command but now it turns out to be while i had closed the window and reopened telnet and try to open the modem a error displayed is "connection to host lost"
    "press any key to continue...."
this error is displayed as soon as i try to type the login name etc .......

could someone please guide me as to what is the problem and what needs to be done in this regard ..............

The problem is either in ur telnet client or in the telnet server in ur modem.
Have you tried the instructions given here (Ultimate Night Usage Manager.) as how to use the "Mytelnet.exe" tool.

It looks like your firmware is buggy, especially the telnet server daemon inside your modem.

but by the way bro ............. i know the command for rebooting and all for my modem i.e. system restart ........ but the real problem lies with telnet ......... as most of time it shows an error message ..... while doing it manually "connection to the host lost" ............

hi buddy.. well i am using vista ultimate. i never had such problem. still lets see.. tell me which ver of vista u have..

1st of all.. manually.. go to telnet via cmd and type " o 192.168.1.1 "

type in login n password correctly.

it happens always mostly because if u put wrong login and password.

r u sure the login and password is correct and tell me when exactly u get error? what r u trying out to do??
i have never also tried imran broad band utility as my connection is on poppe mode and wifi so. i think this app is not suitable for me.

still tell me exact details.. with screen shots if possible.. make it clear.

thnxx a lot for your prompt reply bro ..............
i have windows vista home premium ........
i'm doing it manually itself ................ i.e. while i type "o 192.168.1.1" into the telnet window i'm guided to the modem login in screen(but in most of the cases) while i start to type it gives as error as "connection to the host lost "
"press any key to continue ......... "
i'm basically trying to reboot my modem via telnet ............ i have successfully rebooted it as well(manually) but what the problem is while i make the process automated by editing the reboot file in imran's broadband helper .......... the utility is not able to reboot as it is not marked to retry if it suffers from login failuer due to connection loss ........ but while i do it manually i retry and retype "o 192.168.1.1" and establish the connection again .........
    i'm posting d screen shots .............

    2 things you could try
    1)resetting your modem
2)Checking your Telnet options , some modems block it by default, check to see if telnet access is enabled in your modem.. and its allowed for LAN..

    Type 192.168.1.1/home.html
look at the menu and see any DSL settings.

thnxxx for your reply bro ............ i understood what you both meant ............
but bro if there existed such a setting in my modem type then as it is pre-assumed that i have not enabled it then i must not be able to access my modem via telnet at all...............
but thats not the case with me as i already attached the pics which clearly show that i'm able to telnet my modem (i have attached the pics in the previous post) ............
but i will still check my modem settings and post each and every screen shot of it ...........
