yes you can have parallel connection ........ but the only point which needs to be kept in mind is this : -
the main telephone line coming from the telephone pole or distrubution box or terminal (whichever is applicable in your case) directly goes into the splitter .......... then from the splitter you have two output ports one for ADSL and the other for the TELEPHONE .......
the one for ADSL attach it with the router/modem while attach the other one i.e. the TELEPHONE with the telephone or telephones (using a switch etc.) and this wouldn't effect your broadband ............
correct me guys if i'm wrong somewhere .......

ONLY ONE ADSL splitter required for this set up.
Omit the other adsl splitters .

BUT if for parallel connection BSNL
phone port is in other room/s, use extra ADSL splitter/s .

Well I'm using a parallel phone the way they say it should not be used. i.e. parallel before the splitter. earlier I had a CLIP phone in parallel before the splitter and a non-CLIP simple instrument after the splitter. but the connection would break frequently unless I unplugged the parallel phone.
Then I simply switched the instruments and put the non-CLIP simple instrument in the parallel line before the splitter. Since then I had no problem, as long as I lock all out-going facility through the Dynamic STD lock. If the lock remains open, then sometimes there are breaks in connection.
Don't know how, but its working for me so far.

Connecting More than one Phones/Fax parallel to Dataone Connection.

As shown below, the multiple phones can be connected using splitters. No phone/Fax should be connected before splitter
