    Hi,

Can anyone help. Everytime i need to click connect on the shortcut of my desktop (username/password by bsnl). i dont want this everytime to be clicked. pl suggest me the setting.
For this,go to the modem webpage by typing address 192.168.1.1,when the username and password window pops up enter admin for both (username and password),next click on advanced setup on the left and select the WAN option, click on edit of first WAN settings listed (usually VPI 0/ VCI 35)

in next page click next the page that comes after will have various list,in that select 2nd option which is PPP over Ethernet (PPPoE) and again click next,

in this page enter the details like username&password and in the PPPoE Service Name enter dataone,Authentication Method keep it auto,at the bottom of the select this option : Bridge PPPoE Frames Between WAN and Local Ports (Default Enabled) !

Now click next and next untill you come to the last page where it says WAN setup summery ! click save and in the next page click on save/reboot !!

Thats it you are done ! Now you have always on connection and you do need to click on the desktop dialer ! If you want you can delete the desktop dialer shortcut and also the default dialer for BSNL from the system !

secondly when i plug in my ethernet cable to other port of modem and other end to next computer. my internet does not run, what will be the problem in modem. i mean my modem is not throwing out the power of internet to other computer.
Could you please specify exactly what you are trying to say ?? Are you saying that, you are using the second LAN out in the modem to connect to a second system ?? if so have you setup the network card properly (with ip adress and default gateway etc etc ) ???

Also going by what you say if you have a dialing system of accessing the net then you cannot use net in the second system as the dialer will not be present and will not dial !! so just do as what I have said above and you shall be able to browse the net all the PC's (even if you have more then 2 )!!

But please be aware that once you connect multiple PC's to the same modem the speed is divided !! also keep this to yourself and don't tell this to the BSNL folks as the home connection is meant for single user and not multiuser ! so they may suspend the connection !!

Hope this helps ! if you still have any doubts please ask !!

    Regards.

    @raghu_vansh:
    Please see these link/s.
seems similar modem settings for yours.
Chennai Telephones- Changing password in DataOne Pre-configured modem
The little I know about Dataone Broadband Services offered by BSNL

    Still problem:
    Suggestion: To check post data:
Start RUN type cmd type ipconfig /all
for each computer in your set up.
