Smile Change of Modem to WiFi

I am using BSNL UL750 plan. I got ZTE 831 AII type modem and got it on a rental basis. Now i bought a PSP and would like to use the WiFi on it to play games online. So i ma planning to change to a WiFi modem (Type 2) provided by BSNL.

For the modem tat i got right now i am paying a rent of 60 Rs. per Month.

Can someone help me on the procedure to change to a WiFi modem and the pros and cons of it.

    Hi,

First off you are lucky ! you have rented out the modem so its bit easier to obtain a new wireless one !!

Second how long have you been using this modem in rental mode ?? if its more then a year or two then perhaps you've already have paid for it !

Anyways, just go to the nearest exchange and meet the outdoor engineer (mostly the incharge of these things) and request for the change of modem, they'll ask you to write a requisition letter and should give you the wireless one immediately (you have to pay the difference amount for the deposit though ! again that comes in the next phone bill)!!

As with Pros and Cons, there will always be both in any damn thing in this world so not to worry much bout it !

The only word of caution in using the wireless router/modem is to make sure that the security is turned on with a WEP/WPA and is password protected !

    Regards.

Right now i am paying some 60 bucks for this modem. I have been using it for the past 1 year or so. So wont be a problem.

Actually i am going for this new modem for my PSP3000 and my dads Laptop. Got to go through the basics of wireless internet before i use one

But i am bot sure about the deposit mate. I am getting sick of deposits. Just a month back i changed my plan from 500C to 750UL and they charged a deposit of 750Rs. I need a clarification if the deposit amount we pay is Refundable or not because i have already paid a deposit amount while opting the broadband for the first time and again while hanging the plan.
As u say if the y charge a deposit for change of modem then i ma gonna get sick of it mate..............:16:

Yeah its Rs.50 now. Just no checked.
And they have given like security Deposit for modem is refundable. So i think they wont charge a deposit in case we change the modem type. Only thing is the rent on modem will increase. As per plan i will have to pay a rent of 80 instead of 50.

Lemme check out the customer care and let u guys know
