    Default Do I need a modem ?

    Hi,

    Do I need to purchase the modem from BSNL ?
    the inbuilt RJ-45 jack in my laptop is enough right ?

    For BSNL broadband you need ADSL modem you can buy it from BSNL or from market.

    Please mention the laptop computer model number.
    Presume you have a BSNL Landline phone connection.
    the inbuilt RJ-45 jack in my laptop is enough right ?
    1.There could be TWO rj45 type ports in the rear.

    2 One will be for Dialup modem ( slow speed 56Kbps
    Sancharnet Netone internet service) modem could be built in.

    Another will be for Broadband Internet connection.
    ( Usually there will be built in Ethernet card in the laptop)

    Also there will be a slot in right or left side of the laptop to
    insert a WIRELESS LAN adaptor to work Broadband
    any where in the house , without any cable connections to Laptop.

    Do I need to purchase the modem from BSNL ?
    5. For 3 & 4 as mentioned above you need an ADSL modem ( type I and III ) or ( type II & IV wifi routers)
