dear sirs, how to fix phone line busy. when i am connecting error no 676 is comming from 3 days. why it is happen. I am using UT300R2u modem . and winxp2002. please give me suitable reasons. thankyou for all

i think you should use a splitter, do you use it? No need for "sir" we are all friends, always ready to help each other

contact ur telefone exchange department even i faced the same problem after complaining they fixed the problem

This error is password ID related.
To check :
in another active internet connection
use your 14 digit portal ID PW to access usage portal.
See Password change option and reenter Old password
( if you remember) or enter a new password.
Start "Dialup" enter new password and try.

In modem access diagnostics page and see what has failed.

i'm getting error676 when i'm connecting to the internet. i've got to know i should change the modem to bridge mode. how? where should i navigate in my computer to fix this problem.

Mention your modem model/make.

2.a)...Do a google search for settings for your modem.
b)...for a BSNL web site for instructions. or
c)... error 697

I had given links routinely for "newbies ' like you., in the past for more than a year in this forum.

4. Instructions for changing to Bridge mode
Open IE.
Type 192.168.1.1 (usually)
userId admin password admin ( Usually).
see menu on left.
In WAN settings select "Bridged"
(if modem worked earlier further changes not needed )
Save and reboot.
Use a dialer in computer to connect.
For dialer.
Start/All programs/accessories/ communications/
Network connection wizard.
follow instructions.

as per your instructions i had change to bridge mode . the problem was rectified. thanks for your valuable response. Not only for you who resposond for my problem.

Why are you trying to feed false info??
Pls don't reply if you're not sure. Error:676 is 'Phone line busy'. 645 and 691 are password related.

I think your problem is with bad connectivity. I am facing the same situation with my connection. Call the linesman and tell them to check the conn. NOISE. Your phone line is a bit noisy, I'm sure.

and reject my suggestion, even if his connection is OK /
If the thread starter has to follow your advice he will be chasing BSNL CC even now !

Read the thread in full. The problem was no internet connection.
There is no fixed answer and many suggestions can be
given.
What counts is the result.
