as far as i knw, they will install everything. and there is nothing like best modem, its just the connectivity options, all wil hav the same performance. if u just need to use internet in ur home pc, type I is enough. if u hav more than one computer go for type III, and if u need wifi to connect to laptop go for Type II or IV

Bdw in home 500 plan the download limit is 2.5 gb. So does it mean surfing too or just downloading.

Shankar, Welcome to IBF. Since you are a heavy user, don't waste time searching for plans. UL 750 is an unlimited domestic usage plan from BSNL. If you spend 500-600, then you will have download limits and you will be forced to download between 2 am and 8 am. UL 750 costs Rs. 750 per month and you can do whatever you want.

Night unlimited and all, my friend BSNL plays with those things. In this forum, you will find a lot (like me) of people who suffered from BSNL's "excellent" usage and billing services. BSNL is the most cost effective ISP. But if your concerns are more than cost, think twice. Your complaints will be heard by deaf and dumb. Since you have friends in BSNL, may be .................

They will give you Seimens C2110 which is popular and seems to be ok. You can find a lot of help for this modem in the forum or other.

    regards

    Dilip

There is a tradeoff here. If you are a heavy downloader Go for UL 750 plan but the bandwidth is only 256Kbps.

On the other hand if you want comparatively high speed go for 500C or 500C+, Download limit of 1.5Gb and 2.5Gb respectively and a good bandwidth of 2Mbps which means higher speed than UL 750.
