    Default Dlink modem woes.

I have Dataone H500 plan and I am using the GLB 802c router/modem. Now I am having a strange problem for the last 4 days now.
Te router didn't power up for the first time. But after some time I pressed the hard reset button of the modem and the modem started. It started with all the lights except power LED dancing. No stability at all but after some time I was able to connect to internet.Once it starts it gives no problem whatsoever. But the time I cut off the power and start it again, it behaves like that again. Now the power light is also not glowing. But wait after some 20 minutes I can see the power light glowing(somewhat dim). But no other LED's responding. I don't know if it is h/w problem or what. Maybe the adapter has gone kaput or maybe the router. But looking at the behavior I think it can't be a software problem. Please reply soon so I come to know that is there any solution or I have to get it repaired.

Sure that is not a s/w problem... i dont think adapter is having any problem as it is giving proper power supply and router even if LED's are not glowing the router is working fine after heating up... i think the problem is with the transformer in the router... so its better to get the router checked by a computer electronics person....

its well and good if D-link guys themselves check it.... i said that if its out of warranty as they will charge more.... its better to get it checked with D-link person only....

OK thanks, but I have warranty in my kitty. Also the problem is with the startup process of the modem. After keeping it on for some 1 hour I am getting all lights to blink but they are all dancing and Network Cable Unplugged

Ok some more observations here. There is problem with the startup of the modem and everytime I have to press the Factory Setting switch. Once it startups no LED"s exept Power glows and after some time all LED's start glowing randomly. After one hour or so the LAN LED becomes stable and I am able to connect. Serious problem with the router I guess.

In D-Link Router the Lan LED goes on only when there is data transfer occurred but before it the LED light is off.
Not possible from here to tell you that the Router have the problem or you don't know how to handle it.
But I can say that if you buy the Genuine product from the Market there is no chance to have the serious problem in the model.

Bought it from legal sources and have the bill and who said buying from legal won't get a product into serious trouble. Anyways I hope that a video of what my router is upto will give you'll a clear idea
