Default I do not get proper speed BSNL Broadband

    Hi All,
I subscribe to BSNL Broadband under plan 750, I had got my connection in Sep 2006 and used the Type I DSL modem.Downloading was pretty fast a 100MB file would finish in 1 hr at the most. Now I have switched to Type II ADSL 2+ router ( Make : ITI ) and use the Ethernet Cable with my PC, I do not get the desired speed, even at times the most common web sites do not open. I use "emule" the log returned with a message " private ip .... UPnP .. error" ( this is not the exact log...) but it meant that some settings some where is wrong.. Please Help.

    OS : Win XP sp3
    IE8 beta
NIC : 10/100 broadcom netxtreme gigabit ethernet onboard MSI KT4 ultra/AMD athalon 2600+

Assume that as a long time user of BSNL BB u must be knowing more than me (I am a user sicne 3rd week of Dec 2008). As u r facing the problem after changing the modem check the setting in the modem yourself or specify the statistics of the modem so that this forum members can help you out.

yes as Matrix has told you please show the stats so we can help... and you said 100 MB in 1 hr thats perfectly normal but you didnt tell that now in 1 hr how much are you downloading.... if you say that we can compare and see what has to be done...

in your modem settings check under line/status/info etc that line mode is set to G.dmt & not ADSL2/2+.also check that any SNR value is not below 10(should be >15) & Line Attn values are not more than 40.
