Hi, I want to ask could i download two different u torrent softwares on a single system. Does it will work fine????

i think what you mean to say is u want to install 2 different 'BitTorrent' applications on a system.

yes they work fine as long as you set the listening ports different on both.

And what will be the speed? By this method, can we download faster than we do as one by one? Anybody tried this before?

i have run it like above, the total speed would be the speed of your plan (if conditions are favourable) []

your speed will not be increased... even if you use two different applications you speed will be same.... to be technically exact the speed will slow down by 0.01% as it has to negotiate with two different applications... hence no use of using it... use a single application .

then give me the name of other u torrent and website from where this could be downloaded.One i m using is "utorrent 1.8.1".

first off its not 'u torrent software', its bitTorrent software applications. uTorrent is just one application employing BitTorrent methodology.

there are various apps out there which u can use, out of which uTorrent is one of the most efficient. do you want to tell us why u want to use 2 apps side by side?

you can use azureus or bittorrent, the list goes on... a search on google won't hurt you

If the speed is not going to increase, i think it is better to have two active downloads in utorrent.

For that,
ctrl+p> queueing>set maximum no. of active downloads as 2. If in doubt, please check the screen shot (attached). Btw utorrent 1.8.2 is available.

And please don't mind the spelling of queuing. It is given so in utorrent.

You can never have download speed more than the bandwidth of your plan.

That is the right answer for this question (NOTE there is a small catch that necessarily two application will run for the same purpose and eat up the computer resource)

If your requirement is to download more than one file at a time, you should manipulate the queuing settings. By default utorrent 1.8.2 allows one download at a time. Check the reply i have posted. It will show how to download two files at the same time.

As discussed in this thread, by installing 2 torrent applications, were are installing a new software and thereby consuming RAM and other resources, making the system slow. And there will be no increase in speed. So it will be better to download both in the same torrent application. You can set your priority. Like the file you want to download first and faster.

For this, right click the active application and set values for bandwidth allocation. For details pls check the following link
