jst set the alarm on clock attached to device when u want to switch on system.
First it will switch on the power supply of whole system then after 1 minute it will switch on cpu from push switch of cpu.Only u have to do is to connect TWO wires of device to cpu's push on/off switch.

U can also use it without time by simply inverting switch.

100% working used by myself.once set alarm nd it will switch on computer daily at that time.

U can buy it only from me.Soon i will make it available on Ebay and rediff as it is the most awaited and required thing for bsnl users

What !!! a device for waking up computer ?? !! Man i must be in moon !!
Just create a task(running torrent client for example) in windows and enable "wake up computer to run this task", and then hibernate the machine.... This is all it takes ...
I do this every day to wake up my computer @ 2:10 AM

I daily sleep at 11pm..I am sure nothing bad will happen if i keep my comp on monitor turned off from 11pm to 2.04am(only 3 hrs) ....I have 2 macros :

1 for starting net at 2:04(I am in bridged mode(Like dialup thingy)
the other for disconnecting at 7:54am.

Both these macros are loaded into system scheduler and scheduled to work at the given time daily

Then i have AutoshutDown software which shuts the whole system at 7:56

Hey guys no need for any special device for this.

You just need to enable power management option in your BIOS settings.

-Press DEL at boot time before windows logo
    -Enter Power management
-YOu will see wake up on alarm
-PUt in the time and date, The clock is 24 hour type
-Press F10, and choose Y for yes.
-That's it, computer will restart (after choosing yes option above).
    -Turn off the computer
-NOTE:- Do not turn off the UPS or power supply of the PC.

NOw you PC will wake up at specified time and date.

Use any schedular (like IDM), queue up the downloads. Use IDM's schedular to stop download before 8.

But everyone here is missing the point by a mile and a half and even the person who bulit that device... The question is not waking up the system.. But switching the MODEM on or off at will. So we need to control the power supplied to the MODEM....So none of these will serve the purpose.. Except probably a timer-adapterplug which someone told that's available in ebay which switches on the MODEM and switches off at the specified time...

Because the MODEM's longevity will improve if we switch off the power to the modem when we don't need it...

Why do you need to switch off the modem, keep the modem on, unless you have "always on" option for your modem. YOur modem will not blow up if you keep it on for 6 hours.

I keep the modem on at night, and turn it off after 8 in morning, and my modem is as good as it was years back when i bought it.

If you have build this device, than you should be able to do it by a PC parallel port and relay switch with some coading. No need to spoil an alarm clock.

Just write a code to give logic 1 on any one pin of parallel port to level shifter than to relay. Run this program in task scheduler. Even you can control whole your home with PC. This will be much cheaper than your device.:47:

Let me know if any one need more details. I will be happy to help.

This is essential to disconnect the connection to Internet
at about 0155Am and restart at say 0215. then again switch off
at 0755. To avoid Night d/L being charged.
    say from 0155 to 0225 AM or even 0150 to 0300AM .

So even if the computer is on H24 , or on "Hibernate"
all scripts are made with this requirement in mind.

If the system is started , some require that we use
CTRL/ALT/DEL as security ( example Dell Inspiron 8000)
and then the password has to be entered.

Hope your device addresses these requirements.

This forum is seen by beginners, and not so computer "savvy'' ( include me too )
    and if you kindly
    explain what the device does
step by step ( with /without alarm clock )
On time basis, it will be helpful.

    for ref and analysis :
