    Ubuntu is available free of charge and they can send you a CD of the latest version (8.10 (Intrepid Ibex)) with no extra cost, but the delivery may take up to 4 weeks

    if u want u can get a free copy from the site mentioned in above post.
    u will be charged Rs.30/- as custom charges.

    i dont think you will be charged at all.. i remember requesting a cd long back when i didnt have a fast internet connection.. i dont remember the link but it required me to have a launchpad account . I got the cd for FREE no custom charges nothing..

    Ubuntu is totally free just like many other distros, but only the base with some basic application for the daya-to-day use. If you are a serious user of a computer this free distro never help you have to download everything.
