    Thumbs up Solution is here

For all kinds of site problem , i found this solution for Type 2 Utstarcom Modem supplied by BSNL

    1. Change the MTU to 1452
Open the modem setup page 192.168.1.1 in a browser
    uname & pwd as admin
    Select ADV SETUP
Edit the PVC with VPI /VCI =0/35
    Click next twice
Change the MTU seen below Username & password
    MTU=1452
    Click next twice
    Save the Config

    2. Adv Setup Select NAT > DMZ
Enter the IP of your PC like 192.168.1.5 etc
( see TCPip properties of Local NW adapter)
Finally Save & Reboot your modem
    Thats all

    .1.Mention your modem/model number.

2.The problem you face. Like some web sites not opening, slow speed etc.

3.Download the application and see the advice given.
    Then further clarifications possible.

4or if you want consult another "specialist" DR TCP
    for the answers!

I want to know the function of TCP optimiser, and how to tackle the problem without installing any software.

    1) UTStarcom WA3002 G1 Type2

    2) Hotmail not opening

    3) If i don't want to install 3rd party software?

because I use both OS, XP & Leopard, I can install TCP optimiser on XP but what about Apple? that's why I would like to set-up manually....

Only changing broadband modem's MTU will not resolve the problem if ur network adapter's default MTU is set to 1500 then u'll still face the problem.

U need to change MTU value in ur modem and also in ur PC. Basically MTU defines the maximum chunk size of data that is sent in one go.

Most of the router will reject any packet data exceeding their MTU value with a not rechable ICMP message. Most of the time ur machin will be able to autocorrect the MTU to suit the destination router/site's MTU by reading those reply.
But some times some firewall blockes those ICMP messsage (reply) ,resulting unable to reset the local MTU value.

So it's best to set a low MTU value in ur PC to avoid the problem.

As far as I remember each network adapter has a GUID assigned to it to uniquly identify it. Find it from device manager.

    Open up registry,

Now goto the following location :
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\Tcpip\Parameters\
    Interfaces\[Adapter ID]

Replace [Adapter ID] with ur device GUID , such as "{0569ED08-BCC7-4671-9B0B-9F722F154E4B}"

Now under that change the following keys :
    Value Name: MTU
    Data Type: REG_DWORD (DWORD Value)
    Value Data: Default = 0xffffffff

Now If still u face the problem with MTU , try changing PPPoE MTU value :

    goto "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\S ervi ces\Ndiswan\Parameters"

    Create a new key : "0"

So that the location becomes :"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\S erv ices\Ndiswan\Parameters\Protocols\0"

Create the following keys under that location
Entry name Data type Value data
    ProtocolType REG_DWORD 0x00000800
    PPPProtocolType REG_DWORD 0x00000021
ProtocolMTU REG_DWORD the appropriate MTU size (in decimal)
