Thread: Help required with torrent downloads.

I am using Bittorrent for my torrent downloads.Have couple of questions:

How can I attain maximum download speed-by downloading a single torrent at a time or more than one?

Can I add more trackers to the list of trackers already present when we look into the properties of a torrent. Will this help to increase the speed.

How long should I seed after downloading a torrent so that I am in the good books of the trackers.

Please help me with tips and tricks for more download speed, currently geeting only 8-10kb/s.

I am new to this field and would like to be spoon fed

Choose good torrents (one with enough seeds).

Configure a static ip.

Limit the upload speed.

I get somewhere between 25-30 kBps.

And i too have a question, is it necessary to seed? i normally remove the finished downloads to increase the speed. Experienced hands, pls reply.

1.Choose torrents with high number of seeders.
Seeders: are the computer in the network who have full copy of the torrent file you are downloading.
2. You should upload a file till download/upload ratio is minimum 1 to 1.5.
3. Use port forwarding.

....hmmm......yes as they said limit the upload speed....and try utorrent....its better....bcoz bittorernt automatically deos torrent searches.......tat makes you lose 5 to 10 kBps..and for the speed you say......its not a better choice.....

Adding Trackers to the list will help in some cases. If the trackers have more peers and seeds connected to them it will help get you connected to more seeders and hence theoretically increase your download speed for the torrent. Best way would be to get a better bandwidth connection. Also make sure that the port that your bit torrent client is working on is open.

2 - A FEW CHANGES IN YOUR ROUTER DMZ ON

3 - AND A FEW CHANGES IN YOUR BIT TORRENT PREFERENCE
