    Default Issue Configuring DSL-G2604T

    Hi all,

I have bought a new DSL-G2604T wirless modem/router, so as to use my desktop as wired and Laptop as wireless.

I'm not able to connect to the internet via my desktop as configuring it is a big pain, & due to lack of skills in this field.

So GURUS and Geeks please help me in configuring.
Please also let me know what type of connection to use with BSNL i.e Static,Dynamic,PPPoE or Bridging.

    Regards,
    Animesh

1.How do you connect to Internet now ?
2.Which is the modem router you use ?

3.Did you get an Installation CD , along with the
    Linksys Modem Router.

4.As settings pages are different for each model
try to Use the set up wizard.
Values for BSNL VPI 0 VCI 35
    If you want "Always On"
You have to enter USERID without @ bsnl.in
and password. in a WAN page >

5.If you are using a DIALER , select "Bridged"
UserID and PW entered in a window in computer externally.

6.You have to post screen shot of at least one page
of your modem/router for comparison with older
    models, to assist you.
Post it here as annexure jpg picture.

7.See this blog for reference :

    8. Or search the forum here " Broadband How to........"
    for other Linksys models .

    Dear essbebe,

    Thanks for your reply

1.How do you connect to Internet now ?

Well i have ADSL Modem which come from the BSNL(I guess UT300R) so I use internet via it ,
But i purchased a new one for enabling Wi-Fi Connection at my home(for my Laptop), Tis is from from DLInk DSL-G2604T.

2.Which is the modem router you use ?
Its a ADSL2/2+ Modem/Router, This is best i can understand.

3.Did you get an Installation CD , along with the
    Linksys Modem Router.

Its not a LinkSys ModemRouter, Its from DLink DSL-G2640T.
Yes I recieved a Installation CD, which has been of No use.

Regarding the Setup, i have tried running the RUN WIxard, But of no use, As I don't know which one to use , whether it should be using Static IP/Dymanic/PPPoE or Bridge.

Please enlighten on connection type aspects

I will upload Snapshots, for your understanding by end of today.

Sorry error regretted. Your modem is from D'Link.

Did you see the annexure in my post. ?
I had given a DLINK modem page.

    9. confirm page of g604 is similar to G2604T
    Confirm correct model.

    Para two:
(I guess UT300R) so I use internet via it
Are you using a dialer , or you get connected to internet as soon as you switch on the
    system ?
    confirm same model.
    UT-300R ADSL MODEM MENU

    Para three:
Please see " Broadband How to...." forum and select
    a thread by @Just4Kix explaining
using a modem + wifi router ( preferred any DLINK model) Idea is same.
You have to allot a different IP number to WIFI router.

Post this data to help you further.
Start/ RUN type cmd type ipconfig /all

    HINT: type [ quote ] adsl modem [ /quote]
    without space will show as
    adsl modem
Avoid using the "Quote" iconbutton / near edit button.
