Call to your exchange and ask them to verify whether your application is forwarded or not. Only IPs with 59 can log in to the particular site. Normally they set it with a future date/effective date. It will happen only if your application is forwarded to the technical department.

Once it is approved by administration department, it will be forwarded to the technical section. Once it reaches the technical section, it will be future dated. It means you need to make follow up calls to the technical department and make them do it.

Did you spoke to the technical section ( preferrably Senior Divisional Engineer (SDE)) ? Check the portal regularly. Wait till your usage is shown zero.

    Hey guys

Sept 15th I applied for a plan change to UL1350.Till today morning I got the download speed of H500.Evening I did checked my portal but it says I am still in H500.

But at 9 P.M did a speed check in speedtest website. It says my download speed is 0.51Mb/s and upload as 0.21Mb/s.

Does it mean my plan has been changed?

I have also given request to change plan to UL 1350+ from Combo 500+. But the speed is still the same as before. And I am not able to login to portal to check because I lost the password.

    What they say

When you apply for a plan change, it will take effect only from the succeeding month.

    What will happen

May be you applied on 10th of March and normally expect to get the plan changed from April 1st.By this statement, BSNL only means that your plan will not be changed in March. They give you no guarantee that the plan change will effect from 1st.I have experienced it personally. Please check the screen shot for details.

Please think of some kind of personal confirmation.

I applied in Feb, expected to be changed on Mar 1st, instead they changed it on 5th. I talked to the Senior Divisional Engineer (SDE). He told me that not even your application date counts. It is when they feel comfortable.

They consider administrative department to work in Pakistan or something that they have no connection with it when we give the application there. For us both are BSNL but for them it is not. They charged me extra for the usage till 5th even without considering I changed to unlimited plan.

Please try as you say. As someone had in his signature, rely on Miracle. It happens sometimes.
As the portal was inaccessible i called them also went and met them personally their computer showed change to new plan... The datone portal was inaccessible for few days many might have noticed it.. They told my plan has been changed should i stop worrying or still I have some problem... If they bill me this month I'll surely file a consumer complaint..

that should be thousands of rupees for me..

What is the effective date of your unlimited plan ? Till that date, you will be charged according to Home 500. After that you will not be charged. Hope you didn't used it during non NU period.

I went to office they showed on their computer it was UL750 So started using it as unlimited. the staff also said you can use as unlimited...

How can a staff provide wrong information??

I hope I'm not billed for usage which would be thousands of rupees..

Golden Rule : Never believe anyone at BSNL. They are less informed than the members of this forum.

Go to data.bsnl.in and check the effective date and provisioned tag under my orders. That is the only way to confirm.

Check the portal and confirm if there is any excess usage. It is always wise to negotiate before you get the bill. Once you got, it takes a lot of effort to change it.

Thanks for sugesstions. I've previously negotiated on first month usage after getting the bill ..so this will be a good idea. I'll meet them once i get the bill.. I've met them before so I'll deal with them after i get the bill... The pre billing contact department is sick and foolish...

I regret to inform that the plan changes can take place at any time of the month as per the request of the customer, but BSNL has taken a stand to affect add plan changes in the month End. i.e on 30th or 31st of the month to avoid billing issues, but some times the plan change do not take place even for one week or more cos, this is a manual process and an operator has to do all this activity in one to two days. one DGM area gets approxly 300 plan change requests in a month. now just imagine eh whole state or all the states entering plan change requests, A lot of over load on the staff and servers.

The updation takes place in batch due to which it does take time. Hence it is always preferable that you go a bit slow till the first week of the month and once verified that the plan change is provisioned, you are free to use.

Hyderabad users will not have this problem as a new Billing system has been implemented which will make the plan changes in one day automatically, which will be extended to whole of India soon.

The money I pay every month is hard earned. Will BSNL consider this while quoting their difficulties in HR ? That is no genuine reason. If there is more work load, they can appoint more staff. Instead they are giving trouble to the customer who unknowingly fall prey to this. I don't mind if they change on 10th unless otherwise it is effective from first.

    hey dilip,
i've an idea, u have so much experience in this perticular topic. y don't u prepare a neat application, post it here & send it to every GM (boradband, cc & grievence listed on their national portal). i will also mail ur application if u post it here. a lot of ppl can. this is really a serious issue. total mistake of BSNL. y shud a consumer pay for it.

one thing is sure, these ppl can't ignore us forever if we keep up our point.

tell me how the idea sounds to u.

Sounds to be a good idea. I am not so good at drafting letters. I have compiled everything I know into an article. If somebody can draft an application using it, I will be happy to send it to the GMs.
