Thumbs up How to check upload and download speed ?

    Hi,
To begin with I should thank all for helping me in configuring my DNA-a211-I wireless modem. The seller was very ill-informed about the setting and the local BSNL guy is difficult to reach ( I stay in Faridabad). With the help of numerous blogs on this site and with BSNL call centre, I was able to configure. Now my desktop is running through Ethernet, my laptop through wireless and my son's I-touch through wireless.
Can somebody help me in understanding the download / upload speed of my BSNL broadband connection ?

The download speed varies due to various factors.
1.Checking at speedtest.net say Mumbai server will use approx 20 MB of data for each test ( if your is U/L plan no problem )

    2.
When you download an application/ etc with a DOWN LOAD Manager the speed is indicative.
    3
Some sites will be faster others slow.

For example if you download at Rapid Share as a premium member you can d/l fast , but as a free user speed is
    drastically reduced.

    4.
Also some web sites state indicative
time required to download an application.
    say with Dialup connection 56Kbps
    adsl connection 256Kbps . 2 Mbps etc.

    5. If you are a new BSNL BB user, i hope you will find this link useful.
