will my pppoe settings like wpa encryption still be there when i switch to bridge or i have to do it afresh altogether

Default Dlink2640T switching between "Dialup ( "Bridged")" and "Always On PPPoE"

can i switch between bridge and pppoe mode with ease ,
The catch is "with ease "
    Instead of changing settings
again and again, and make some mistake/s,
you may loose connectivity itself !

    Para two:
This way I think may work out.

    Create "bridged" mode in modem.
    Check Internet connection OK>
    Save "Bridged" settings to
Hard disk C:/Dialer mode back up.

    Again
change settings to "Always On" PPPoE" mode.
    Check connection. OK.
Save settings to hard disk C:/"Always On" mode

Then restore whichever settings you want.

    Default

WPA encryption is part of your wifi settings , it will not get affected if you switch over from bridged to pppoe
