Default Bandwidth and plan for cyber cafe

    Hi,

New cyber cafe will have 10 pc computers for internet browsing and 10 gaming pc all connected to LAN and Internet. At any point in time, I expect 60% utilization of both lanes except holiday where expectation is 100%. Could you please let me know what plan and bandwidth I should select from business plan. I'm impresed with bsnl BB as I've been using this for last 5 years without any glitch.
I shall have secondary connection from airtel with lower bandwidth like 256kbps as a standby.

    Please suggest for cyber cafe.
    Thanks
    mansoon

It depends on how much you can efford based on your sale. The Best plan is UL 15000 with Multi user connection. or you can choose Business 3000 Business 5000 or 9000. Also you can go for Business 8Mbps connection like Business 4000. But everthing is based on your sale.

    what robert said is appropriate

But in unlimited plan may be UL 9000 is also good 1 mbps total speed it will divided your 10 pcs so i think still 100 kbps is good for surfing(not so good for medium or heavy downloading) purpose and UL15000 will give 2 mbps total speed that mean it will provide more speed to the customer. So choice according to your business plan.

It depends on competition. If have a monopoly or minimal competition, you can start with an average or minimal plan. Wait for feedback from customers and upgrade next month.

If the competition is high, as rupu1983 said, go for UL 9000, or UL 15000. It will help you steal customers. After one month, if you feel it is not cost effective, go for a plan change. The money you spend will be good enough as it does your advertisement.

    All the best.

go for a 10gb or a 15gb limit plan.. and monitor your usage for 3 months and take an average and then choose an appropriate plan..

I would like to add some modification here. Business UL 9000 is also a multiuser connection so I think the bandwidth will not split to 100kbps. As it is a multiuser plan so all the 10 PC should get >=1Mbps. http://www.bsnl.co.in/service/dataone_tariff.htm

And yes you can go for other limited plans also as other says but depending upon your customer demand and sale try to opt for a multiuser connection so that all the PC should get the dedicated amount of bandwith.

Thanks guys for the suggestions. I think I shall go with 1/2Mbps with UL-MU Options. I was not aware that 1Mbps-MU would provide same 1Mbps for all 10 PC's. Please re-confirm if this possible. even if we can get 256Kbps (download) per system that would be great deal for PC gaming /xbox live and browsing. I could not find much details while searching expect that it has better contention rate like 20:1 so compare to single user where 50:1.

I have to go with higher bandwidth with UL option as we have very stiff competition around my place where most of the cyberzone uses lower bandwidth with cap on the limitation which gives me some edge on marketing about our facility with better environment, speeds with additional services.

    Thanks

As you are saying you will take 512 kbps line then, as you are taking MU, the total number of user accounts you take all will get the same speed ie 512 kbps and when you are in that bandwidth your download speed will be 512/8=64 kBps
