Default Wifi Works but lan gives IP problem

My BSNL 1350Plus Unlimited plan has been giving a particular peculiar problem since day one.
My Wifi works without any problem on my laptop. The LAN i use for my Desktop works, but all of a sudden, it will stop receiving data and if i try repairing the connection, it stops at renewing IP address and then in a minute or so, it reports that IP Address cannot be renewed. Sometimes i try reseting the modem, or even switching it off for 30 mins. but the problem persists. wn i reconnect it will say limited or no connectivity.
It takes almost a whole day to be alright again.
What could the reason be? I use a switch and a Type II modem because we need to connect several computers at home to this modem and this problem persists only with the lan. Even when the LAN does not connect, the wifi connects without any problem.
Please help as to how to reset my LAN.

Mention modem/model/make.

Once you get connected , do not RESET often.
Check Mod selected is GDMT. Uncheck ADSL2+
( In WAN page it may be Auto )

From Modem Statistics/ ADSL
data showing
snr/attn/line speed and Mod selected.

For the Desktop.
Start/Network/LAN
properties
TCP/IP
properties
Select "obtain IP address automatically "
Apply Save.
