    Question G.Dmt or ADSL2+

guys i heard adsl2+ is twice faster and handles more badwidth ??

    should i change ?

my DSL router page statistics shows i am on g.dmt now..

my snr is very good .. according one thread here .. ( it was filled with values and how they match to performance )

    so should i change to adsl2+ a better technolgy than adsl(g.dmt ) ?

if so how should i ?

    there is so many options .. like G.lite ,T1.413, adsl2 , adsl2 + ,annexl

i didnt suffer any problem till now..

but still i cant get the max bandwidth from my connection ..

    please help me guys

    Thumbs up G.dmt vs ADSL2+

:thumbup1:For stable ADSL link ,G.Dmt is the standard if your cable quality is poor
If you are within 5 Kms range from Exchange you can try ADSL2+ for better upload

please mention your modem model/make in your posts.

See ADSL data in your modem
    example :
    http://i22.tinypic.com/2wd905f.jpg
Copy paste info regarding ( full page not needed )
    SNR/ATTN/Line Speed MOD selected.

For you GDMT connection is recommended.

    You can select AUTO mode.
    or
keep only adsl2+ adsl2 and bitswap enabled.
    http://i29.tinypic.com/2nvciz5.png

I feel, changing to ADSL2+ will not show
    improvment for you.
    Very good SNR( 28.4 db) and AttN ( 13.0 db)figures ( D/L mode )
    even though you are 5Kms
    away from the Exchange.

    Anyway try and give feedback.

I had observed the mod mode is not
always same. If all are selected,
it can change, depending on ISP.
( now on Airtel) specially with BSNL.
    Sometimes you don't get connection
if, say Gdmt is not selected!
will update later with Bsnl data one.
    wait Changing.

    Code:
    12:08 PM 4/7/2009 beetel 110BX1
    Mode: G.DMT ( adsl2+ unchecked Dataone 59.96.xxx.xx)

      	Downstream Upstream
    SNR Margin (dB): 32.9 24.0
    Attenuation (dB): 16.0 3.0
    Output Power (dBm): 12.3 15.1
    Attainable Rate (Kbps): 8864 992
    Rate (Kbps): 2048 512
    12:11 PM 4/7/2009 airtel 122.164.xx.xx
    Mode: ADSL2 AnnexM EU-56 Beetel 110BX1 ( adsl2+ unchecked ))

    Downstream Upstream
    SNR Margin (dB): 30.3 15.0
    Attenuation (dB): 7.5 29.2
    Output Power (dBm): -20.9 6.0
    Attainable Rate (Kbps): 11688 1967
    Rate (Kbps): 2063 519

    Default gdmt change to ADSL2+

i just want to give it a try .
See the scrfeen shot given earlier.
    Uncheck GDMT and check ADSL2+

    Recheck SNR/Attn.
    Line speed might go high
but actual speed as per your ISP's.

    If no improvement revert
    to GMT/Glite/T413 and Bitswap enabled.

I have the same modem and I am about 2-2.5 km from the exchange. My snr is even better 33/19. Still the modem used to reset often in ADSL2+(initially), so I disabled ADSL2+ but kept in ADSL2. But almost a month back I have switched back to ADSL2+ and there was no auto reset noticed so far.

no i have not connected any telephone line.. i am using it solely for BB.. also is it wise to connect the direct line to router without the splitter since i aint gona use telephone line.. @essbebe : i have tried your method.. the connection restarts ot tries to restart ... but all the time the status light on the router doesnt show up... i dont know why.. i tried different settings... if ADSL2 or ADSL2+ are only selected the connection to server is not formed... but when others are selected .. any one .. it reaches the server... and also my setting goes to default after restarting the modem.. (switching it off and on ) and why is myupstream snr value is too low ?

    h t t p://mydataone.net/router/wa3002g4.html

    Check your settings.
    Follow the procedure specified.
Skip wireless settings if not used.

Inside ADSL splitter. ( see diagram)
Modem can be connected direct to Main Phone Junction. Use short cable..

essbebe i dont think you get my point... my mistake i should have typed more clearly..

    connection is working fine bro..

i just wanted to enable ADSL2 or ADSL2+ alone not the gdmt since i heard ADSL2+ is twice fast and twice bandwidth capacity than adsl (g.dmt )

also i just want to know why my upstream snr value is below <7 ?
