hello friends,
i hv got home 250 bsnl bb plan..... i am facing one problem... whenever i try to update my antivirus(quick heal,or Ez trust), it gives messege " Internet connection not detected " even though i am connected and can surf anything.....also it asks for making internet settings( proxy setting ,server IP,port,user name ,password). anybody having any idea regarding this please help..... also mention about internet setting parameters..........thank u

If the problem is with antivirus only. It can likely be malware. Try a full system scan.

but dear i hv just bought a new PC 3 days back...

First of all, what's up with this extra bold, highly sized character?? It's irritating (Unless not needed)...

Now comes to your problem..
Do you connected via proxy? or it's direct connection?

If you're connected through proxy then make sure that your antivirus setting must be according to proxy setting only.. i.e username, password, and proxy address

are you able to browse security site like symantec.com and f-secure.com?

i am connected and can surf anything....

No hurry to Update now. Ensure one them is a
resident program, ( ONLINE always) to detect any virus attack.

Please click Edit in your post and change the font.

1.Since the PC is 3 days old, and having two
AV programs/applications installed, could be a problem.
Dis-able one of them and try.


2.If you had purchased a "Brand" name computer call the
Service Engineer of that company.

3.If the PC is "assembled" the OS can be suspect. that
company also should assist you. Mention your O.S
.
4.Quick Heal is an Antivirus program Free trial program.
later you have to buy it.
5. Ez trust ( C.A associates) also a trial program.
May be for both trial period has expired.

6.Go to FileHippo.com - Download Free Software and
download a FREE Antivirus program.
AVG free recommended.

7. Then remove both QuickHeal and Ez trust AV applications.

currently only quick heal is installed.... i tried to update e trust as well but couldnt do it... so uninstalled it... and quick heal licence version is installed

the symptoms u r telling i think ur pc is infected by conficker virus


reformat ur pc its the only solution

Users who do not have a genuine version of Windows from Microsoft are most at risk since pirated system usually cannot get Microsoft updates and patches.

Kindly post ur screenshots in .JPG or .PNG format, it has 10 times smaller size.
OPen the image in paint, file>save as> select file type as JPG or PNG

Now that you mention it, and after checking rameshjee's thread(Are You Infected? A Smart and Simple Test (How to avoid prowling Conficker virus)), i feel its correct.

1. why you cannot contact your supplier of the system ?
2. open this and confirm. ( credit to :@rameshjee and @newprouser)

FireFox or Opera .
open the AV's web site. see any Update file can be downloaded.

first of all let me thank all of u for ur suggestions.... it solved my problem... previously i was not able to open any antivirus site .... i scaned my PC with Mcafee... it detected CONFICKER virus.... then i formated my PC... now i am able to go to antivirus site as wel as update my antivirus also. once again thanx all......for ur valuable replies....:thumbup1:

Warn the person who gave you the system. Conficker spread through usb devices. So he may infect others also.

Also another tool to detect.

As you have formatted, immediately patch your system with all critical and relevant windows patches esp MS 08-067.

Unless you have patched this specific MS 08-067, your system is likely to be infected again.
