Thread: How i increase Speed of BSNL Broadband

hi guys
i am using bsnl broadband Home Combo Plan 500C and i am getting downloading speed last 2 weeks while checking on Dataone.in it show Your Current Bandwidth Reading: 250.30kbps
(Download Rate at 20.54 KB/sec) and while speed testing on speedtest.net it shows increase by 2kbps not much difference and while i am downloading 1mb software it takes 45minutes it gives only 0.8 to 1kbps and torrent speed is drastically down.

I am using my UTR300 modem in Bridge mode and my ip configuration is
ip address 192.168.1.2
subnet mast 255.255.255.0
Default gateway 192.168.1.1
primary DNS Server 208.67.222.222
Alternet DNS Server 208.67.220.220

The speed if very low of course. Try port forwarding.

You have not given the correct
details of the modem you are using.
UTR300 old new different versions.
( You have not mentioned the "secret" in four months in all your posts !)

2. Since you are connecting in "Bridged"
"Dialup"mode all ports are open.

3. Post SNR/ATTN adsl /data of your modem
to check line conditions.

4. To tweak your computer for speed try

TCP/IP optimizer from www.speedguide.net.

Use default values or follow advice given
by the application.

5. Check speed at speedtest.net servers
say mumbai and Sydney.
Each test uses about 20MB of data.
Test in free NU time.

you would also want to try changing your MTU values ..
