Thread: ethernet problem

i have a problem when i connect to the net using the ethernet cable.the ethernet light is not glowing.the dsl light and internet light is working.i tried connecting with the usb cable and it worked.so that means the internet connection is alright and something might be wrong with either the modem or the ethernet cable or the network adapter.the computer says the network adapter is working properly.i dont know whats wrong.please help me out.

see if you have manually set the IP address for your network adapter.

Normally, you have to configure the Network card to "automatically attained by DHCP" for BB to work

i think ur NIC is gone if its embedded on motherboard then buy another NIC costs 500 bucks and install it on J20 slot.

there is only one slot in my pc.the network adapter is in the motherboard.it may be gone.it was working nice until yesterday.there was a thunderstorm yesterday.is that why its not working.

i did both ways but its not working.

maybe the circuits are fried and replacing whole motherboard will be costly affair, buy another one and install on that J20 slot that u see in this pic, no 7,8,9.

check the cables again.. you could get a new LAN card for 150 bucks..
