    @swift
confirm you have a laptop and it works on WIFI mode .
The same WIFI network name should appear in your phone. No need for UserId and Password.

@gallard2450 had no wifi facility in his
desktop, and appears to have done
WIFI settings in his router as per link given by me.
Modem to be set for "Always On' mode
( Your BSNL ID PW entered in modem WAN page PPPoE mode. Not "Bridged")
    In the modem enable DHCP.

I am using my WA 3002G4 modem with my cell phone and i can browse easily.the wlan scanning has to be turned on and it will find a wifi network and you connect to it and start browsing on your phone.the wlan is switched on all the time,i don't have to turn on the computer (and connect manually) to use the wlan,i just have to turn on the wlan modem to access the internet (on my phone).I use it without a password.

the problem is my laptop is not having wifi (old model).. and i know what u suggested is correct abt "always on" but even though i have configured in ppoe mode i have to dial up in order to connect to the net how to change this ?it says it connects through wan miniport.. i have followed this link ht t p://mydataone.net/router/wa3002g4.html. moreover my default gateway in the screen in blank..

If you correctly setup the PPPoE in your Router then there is no need to connect from the Desktop.

    Please check this.
    Option 1>
If you are using IE browser
    Select Tools/Internet options
    communications.
Check Box "Never dial a connection "

    Option 2>.
    Start Network
    show all connections.
    delete any dialer application.

    Feedback.
