You have to start afresh your set up.

    Firstly Password change.
use your 14digit portal ID and password and go to
bbservice.bsnl.in and re enter your old
    password.

    secondly:
    Start Network/ Local Area connection
    Properties
    select TCP/IP
    properties.

    ENTER:
    192.168.1.4 ( *your computer IP address )
    255.255.255.0
    192.168.1.1 ( * your modem IP address )

    DNS
    208.67.220.220. and 208.67.222.222
    Stop
    APPLY SAVE.

    Thirdly
    Open IE
    enter 192.168.1.1 admin admin
do you access the modem settings page/s ?
    Proceed further.
    Select PPP/PPPoE always On
    enter id without @ bsnl.in
    password etc.
    Save reboot
    wait for two minutes.

    same story.
    1.Confirm step by step
When I logged in to bbservice.bsnl. in using my portal id, I changed my broadband password there (did this yesterday). Now when I reset the modem, I should register again with "quick configuration" option right? There in the username and password fields, I should enter the new password which I changed yesterday right? Or is it the same one they gave me?

starting with Password problem. Solved or not /
If not ask BSNL to test again tomorrow >

    2.Post Ipconfig /all data
start run type cmd type ipconfig /all

3.Post internet connection status page of modem

    4. Start run type cmd
    ping 192.168.1.1
