hi folks,

I'm using the data one connection for nearly 6 months.. im not able to browse sites even though LAN got connected .. i also checked the firewall settings .. it is OK :-)

Plz help to sort this

Please give as much info as possible.

1. MY modem/router is __________________________-

2. My Inter net connection was __________ (working/not working earlier )

3. Start RUN type cmd type ipconfig /all

4. I need to access the modem settings because ________________

5. I tried this . results are given below
Start/ nETWORK LAN properties
TCP/IP properties

IP _________________ ( 192.168.1.X)
subnet _________________(255.255.255.0)
Gateway ______________( 192.168.1.1)

DNS : --_____________________(208.67.220.220)
dns________________________( 208.67.222.222)

aPPLY sAVE.

6. TRIED AGAIN IN IE address bar
192.168.1.1 admin admin

RESULT ___________________ ( error message ?)

7. I like to connect in__________( Dialer Mode : "Always On" mode )

Yes give more details to get help. What type of connection you are using. Like PPPoe or Bridge mode?

your modem has an ADSL link.. is that LED on?

This problem occurs because you are not authorized use the service.
I also get this problem frequently.
All you have to do is just "restart your modem"

BSNL has given me similar problems in past. When I start my PC initially no site works, only torrent work after few mins some sites open and then after good 30 mins I get full speed and access to all sites.
May be problem with BSNL server. All ports are not accessible.

Any new post in old threads , like this should add
some new information/solution usually posted repeated by
newbies without reading the thread in totality.

This is to help users, who somehow open this thread ,
(a)by SEARCH" option( in this page top above ),
(b)or from ARCHIVES( in bottom of this page)
(c)or from a link given in any other active thread , or
(d) from search engines like Google, Yahoo etc.

You will find any number of threads , without response from the
thread starter, and somehow the old threads are opened.

I had also responded earlier , without checking
the date,year earlier, but now have became wiser.! !
Who knows , ? Both of us may meet in this thread Next Year

I had suggested so many times to moderators to lock the thread
with a welcome message and requesting the
new user to open a new thread on the subject.
( This practice is followed by many foreign
forums using the same V bulletin software.
